Industrial Postdoc in Quantum Technology – Quantum Communication and Cryptography

Location: Stockholm, Sweden (partly at quCertify AB & partly at Stockholm University).

About the Role

quCertify AB, in collaboration with Stockholm University, is seeking a talented Industrial Postdoc. Funded by the Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT), this position offers a unique opportunity to apply academic research skills in a commercial setting.

You will be employed by QuCertify AB, a deep-tech quantum company known for its advanced quantum cryptography, including quantum key distribution (QKD) and quantum random number generation (QRNG). You will work in a dual environment, spending time at both the quCertify office and the quantum optics laboratories at Stockholm University.

The Project

The goal of this project is to design, develop, test, implement, and validate quantum communication devices. The quantum solutions will be used for QKD systems and QRNG) devices. The task includes optics, photonics, control electronics, and programming.

Supervision:

The industrial postdoctoral researcher will be jointly supervised by an academic supervisor, an expert in quantum optics and quantum communication, and an industry supervisor, an expert in quantum cryptography and quantum information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments on optical quantum components
  • Develop and test electronic control systems
  • Validate quantum communication solutions
  • Analyze and process data to certify QKD and QRNG solutions
  • Collaborate with the team on daily operations to gain insight into the quantum industry.

Who You Are

  • Education: PhD in Physics with a strong specialization in Quantum Optics and Quantum Information Science.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in experimental quantum optics (entanglement, quantum measurement, QKD) is highly valued. Experience in programming is required.

Profile: Strong interest in translating academic research into industrial and societal applications.
